O holandês Ben Liebrand fez história com seus imbatíveis minimixes e grandmixes anuais, na década de 80, na rádio Veronica de sua terra natal… Suas remixes são grandes referências ainda hoje por apresentarem novos arranjos para o original, conservando, porém, toda a mágica da versão inicial.
Existem canções que foram melhoradas graças às mãos mágicas de Ben. Um exemplo? DOLCE VITA com Ryan Paris, que ganhou uma leitura linda através do DJ. Outro exemplo? HUMAN do Human League. Mais outra: I CAN’T GO FOR THAT (NO CAN DO) de Daryl Hall & John Oates…
Liebrand nasceu em 1960 e em 1976 já dava seus primeiros passos com disc jockey.
Em 1982 entra no showbusiness das remixagens, e no ano seguinte começa a produzir e veicular seus megamixes com inúmeros sucessos anuais… Durante 10 anos, de 1983 a 1993, passa a apresentar seu famoso In The Mix, sendo o primeiro DJ a ter um programa completamente mixado numa emissora de rádio.
Sendo referência pra muitos DJs, Liebrand foi um dos pioneiros na remixagem incluindo novos elementos à canção original. Atualmente se apresenta em turnês pela Europa, além ainda remixar versões pra muitos artistas.
